Typhoon Gener/Saola Strikes Southeast Asia
This past week Typhoon Saola, known as Gener in the Philippines, has bombarded Southeast Asia. Winds reaching 95 mph (155 kph) combined with torrential rains and landslides have damaged and shut down much of Taiwan and the Northern Philippines. In the Philippines alone, 23 lives have been lost.
